Brookside WarmUp & Premiers

April 17, 2017

We would have to lie if we said we didn't have a total blast starting off our show season in the rain at Brookside! Despite the flip-flopping weather, these last three weeks have been so much fun and we owe it all to our horses, clients, friends and family, and the entire staff at Brookside!

The staff was incredibly organized when it came to the rain that was schedules to interrupt the show. With careful planning and hard work, the rings were sealed and maintained in order to provide fabulous footing for our precious horses and riders!

Halladio, Champesino, Manhattan, Salto, and sale horse Polaris A were the lucky horses to come to the WarmUp show. Everyone won great ribbons, and we even got to watch Champesino and Halladio, ridden by Andrea, and Manhattan, ridden by Pinky, ride in the victory gallop of the Hunter Derby! Lauren and Salto are starting the new year in the 2'9" ring, and she and Polaris A are on the road to success in the 3' jumper and equitation rings!

Brookside Premier I welcomed back Halladio, Champesino, and Manhattan, as well as Amy on sale horse For Enjoy, and our friends at Black Fence Farms joined our barn with our old barn favorite, Harley! Amy and For Enjoy were Champions in their 2'6" Hunter division! All were fabulous dealing with the storm that put a hold on the show! Dreamland Farms also competed in the first annual Brookside Premier Chili Cookoff, and won! Named after Nicole's dog Blue, "BooBoo Chili" was quite a hit!

This final week was bittersweet--as much fun as we have had, coming home was quite a good feeling! Halladio and Andrea put in two great solid rounds in her derby, missing the ribbons by just a couple points! Kim got to ride Champesino to success in the 2'6" hunters, and also won the SAHJA Mini Medal! Lauren once again was able to ride both Salto and Polaris A to some well deserved ribbons...she is definitely one to look out for this year! You might have seen her winning in the jumper ring on Polaris A, who was showing his Easter spirit with pink bunny ears during his class! What a champ! Kristie brought Privilege for her first show of the year and rode him great, but they are definitely ready to move up! We shared the fun with Black Fence Farms again, as well as our friends from CSC Equestrian! Great job to all!
