Almaden Farms at Brookside & HMI Classic & Giant Steps at Sonoma

August 10, 2017

Okay, okay, I know that I'm totally late on Almaden, but with so much going on I just decided to smash the three shows in the last four weeks together!

Almaden was full of ribbons to take home in all three rings! Jody on Woody Allen and Feron and Pinky on Alpenglow all won blue ribbons in equitation, hunters, and pleasure! Andrea and Halladio had a great time in the derby, coming in 7th...gotta love that purple!! Nicole was lucky enough to compete in the jumper ring on one of our favorite sale horses, Casanova. If you haven't seen his pictures from the show yet, scroll down! We were so happy to see how this horse maintained the quiet attitude that he has at home, and he simply shows off more over the show jumps! For more information on Casanova, click here.

Off to Sonoma we went, with Halladio, Cassl Coeur Z, Gold Rush, and Candalero. Halladio and Marcel, and Candalero and Kim won a bunch of ribbons, including firsts, in the Amateur Modified Hunters and Pre-AA Jumpers, respectively. That resulted in a Champion for Halladio and Reserve Champion for Candalero! Nicole and Debbie both got to ride Cassl Coeur Z in the both jumper rings, and he proved to us what a talent he is! Celeste was lucky enough to get to catch ride Gold Rush, who truly proved what a good boy he is! Cute and safe, "Rush" has the talent to take a rider up to the 3'6" ring, but is happy to win ribbons in the 2'6" Hunters and equitation until he or she is ready. We were so proud to see Celeste ride a horse she has barely ridden to some awesome ribbons, and a Reserve Champion in Beginning Equitation!

Almost everyone returned for the Giant Steps show, but Meagan and Lactic joined us. Despite some frustrating conditions, these two took deep breaths and really performed great! The competition in their A/O classes really stepped up, and they kept up with everyone, bringing home some awesome ribbons with their high scores! Halladio and Marcel were once again Amateur Modified Hunter Champions, whereas Candalero and Kim bumped up to Champion Pre-AA Jumpers, and Gold Rush and Celeste won Champion in the Beginning Equitation, winning both over fences classes! Celeste also won a Reserve Champion in the Long Stirrup Equitation! We had so many giant ribbons at our barn!!! We also got to watch Fiona Sewell ride leased horse Lotto to success in the 1.00m and Low Children's jumpers--man they're a quick team!
