Sacramento International Horseshows

Once again we headed to the beautiful venue at Murieta Equestrian Center, and these two weeks go above and beyond with making incredible courses and attracting very tough competition! The first week involved the NorCal Medal Finals, so big thanks to the NorCal team for all the help!

Lego and Lauren had a couple opportunities to step into the Grand Prix ring for some jumpers and medals. After putting in some good rounds in the NorCal 3' Medal Finals, they got back into the jumper ring to win a 4th place in the Low Child/Adult Jumper Classic!

Callistro and Maureen showed up for the weekend for their Low Adult Hunter classes. Not only did they win Reserve Champion in the division, after a win and a few other ribbons, they also won 4th in the Low Child/AA Hunter Classic!

Hugo D, "Hugo,"--offered for sale--took his first shot in a new job as a hunter and equitation horse, which was a tall order to fill at a show with such luxurious hunter jumps! He won a couple hunters, as well as the Ariat National Adult Medal with Amy, and even managed to win Reserve Champion in Schooling Hunters!

Halladio and Andrea were left to compete in one of the biggest divisions of the show, the Performance 3'3" Hunters. They had some really amazing horses to compete against, but still came out with a ribbon, and great experience in the $5,000 Fleeceworks USHJA National Hunter Derby!

FTF Super Trooper--offered for sale via Denise Parker, please contact Andrea Barbee for a referral!--came to give Lauren an extra ride in the hunter ring. Despite not having much time to connect with him, he jumped on the trailer and amazed us in the show ring! He won every Green 3' Hunter fences class, with a second in the hack, claiming Champion in the division, and also was able to win Champion in the Schooling Hunters with his two classes, meant to be used as warm ups! Even though he is a completely different ride for Lauren, his brave attitude helped her figure him out and win good ribbons in her AA Hunters and medals!

The second week was unfortunately canceled after the first two days due to heavy smoke and poor air quality, but Lauren, Andrea, and Meagan were able to get a couple days of good rides in!

Lego and Lauren were hoping to ride in the CPHA Style of Riding Medal Finals, but had to settle for a win in the open 1.00m Jumpers!

Halladio and Andrea once again had tough competition, but were able to win good ribbons in all of their Performance 3'3" hunter classes!

Lactic and Meagan haven't had the opportunity to compete much this year, but with a few good rounds in the Schooling Hunters, the two of them won Champion in that division!

Lauren also had the opportunity to bring Rodster d'Amaury, "Rod,"--offered for sale at the time, currently leased for the next year--for some 3' jumpers. We only had this little horse for a couple weeks, and we fell in love, so Lauren jumped at the chance to get to compete on him, and the two of them won some good ribbons!

What a crazy year it has been, and such events certainly put a damper on the end of these two weeks, but we appreciate everything the show team did, and thank everyone for their patience and understanding! We look forward to next year!
